Visions Of Independence Receives Accreditation from Imagine Canada's Standards Program
If you have recently visited Visions of Independence new and improved website, you may have noticed the Imagine Canada’s Standards trust mark proudly represented. Our organization is honored to announce that we are one of 176 charities and non-profit organizations to achieve this accreditation from Imagine Canada’s Standards Program.
The peer-reviewed Standards Program is aimed towards strengthening public confidence in the charitable and non-profit sector, which is the first national program to achieve this level of excellence. It focuses on and demonstrates distinction of 73 different standards in five key areas of operations: Board Governance; Financial Accountability and Transparency; Fundraising; Staff Management; and Volunteer Involvement. Visions of Independence proved to meet and exceed these standards, which earned our place as an accredited charity through Imagine Canada.
While working hard for three and a half years towards this accreditation, we were given the opportunity to do a full internal review of our operations and standards. We were able to create, update and improve upon new and existing policies and procedures. This allowed us to show the public we are transparent, accountable and have truly enhanced our services to the community. By incorporating Imagine Canada’s shared values and standards into our daily operations, we have secured the trust of the public and built up our reputation.
“Our experience and participation with Imagine Canada’s Standards Program has empowered Visions of Independence to be a trusted leader and allows for many organizations to reinforce confidence in the charitable sector,” says Visions of Independence Executive Director, Jennifer Hagedorn.
We display the Imagine Canada trust mark proudly, and will continue to work towards building healthy relationships, stronger economies, and community engagement, where all abilities are embraced and valued. We’re proud of these accomplishments and work hard every day to earn trust and support so that together we continue to expand our services and work with more families, friends, educators, and community members who value the individuality of all people.
