Since opening in January 2000, we have opened several homes in the communities of Winnipeg and Portage La Prairie that provide 24 hour support for adults with intellectual disabilities.
We operate a Day Program in Portage La Prairie. Our program focuses on developing life skills within the community. In cooperation with several local businesses, our supported individuals have the opportunity for work experience or to volunteer their time to expand their skills and abilities. Examples include: sorting bread and food hampers for the Christmas Hamper program; feeding pets and cleaning cages at local pet stores; as well as delivering flyers; stocking shelves; general cleaning, etc.
Recreation based activities include swimming, bowling and dog walking. Past activities include: music therapy; scavenger hunts; gardening; as well as various day trips to different locations around Manitoba.
